I was nearly sure I was being set up. I had to find the bus stop in Mumbai at night on my own. The rickshaw driver dropped me off at some dodgy travel agency, the three relaxed men there sent me walking 5 minutes to some random hotel and when I got there some old man instructed me to wait on my own at a pavement tree until the bus came, all of this in the middle of noisy, crowded and dark Mumbai city. I was sweating a bit but believe it not, they were genuine and I got the bus that night. The bus was comfortable to be honest, but quite intimidating when your the only white person on it and surrounded by blasts of loud Hindi conversations. We took pit stops for something to eat, again at these random restaurants in the middle if nowhere. I was the only white man in sight, not to mention I couldn't even order food, instead wandering helplessly in a sea of foreign stares.
Udaipur is known as the city of romance, it's chilled atmosphere, it's calm lake waters and the buildings generally are painted white adding to the seductive charisma. The main attractions here are the Lake palace and the City Palace both located on or at the lake Pichola. The impressive City Palace started construction in 1559 and is the main attraction here, see the video below for a quick panoramic shot from the ground floor. The other main attraction is the Lake Palace or "Venice of the East" which sits on an island in the middle of the lake. This location is famous for its film shootings as part of the James Bond film "Octopussy".
