Just managed to grab a listen of yesterdays (April 30th) podcast from popular Irish DJ Ray Foley! He gave a listen to some of my most recent youtube video uploads and although there is some improvements to be made, overall he is impressed with my body of work and more importantly, loves my gay dancing in "Fame Train"! Legend, Special thanks to Neil Roche for arranging this one and delighted for he too got a plug with the collaborating song "The Play". Listen to the 2 minute snippet below; Check out my latest song and video "Fame Train", its original, its energetic and it super fun. Turn it up and listen! Spread the word! I wrote this track a few months before christmas but never released it as I felt it could do with a little makeover. So I enlisted by friend James Yeomans (Factory Yoyo) from the States to take front seat, direct the track and give it a kick in the ass. Had a real blast making the video and I learned a lot along the way (i.e. it aint easy and takes time man!). Thanks to the people who gave me some of the gear for the footage, you know who you are! The song theme should be self-explanatory, its about the animal that is fame, working in tandem with the celebrities who care to embrace it! Find the lyrics below. Fame Train (Lyrics)Holding the crowd in the palm of your hand, A master of puppets, serving your command, Rightfully noticed this new one man band, But watch where you step boy don't stay in the game too long, Ya be swallowed and then you're gone. Chorus They say ya live by the sword ya die by the sword, The papparazzi coming your way, They love ya but they'll hide beneath your feet for money underneath, Just to sell the story they dont care. Wacthing the circus unfold right before me, The bright lights the fast life, It's just like the movies, If you scratch my back then I'll scratch yours it's easy, We both need each other and I can't see no reason why? You and I, work side by side. Chorus Bridge Tell all your friends your riding on the fame train, Have you got the golden ticket in your hand, Watch your step when boarding on the fame train, 'Cos this trip never ends, this track never ends, Oh this train never ends...... Chorus (x3) The first of my originals for the month of April is this track titled "The Play", a collaboration with mate, Neil Roche, and featuring the Rathangan Variety Group. The acoustic track with a theatre theme tells of a girl who prepares for her big night on stage and the experience thats encountered. Please check out the youtube video below! This was real fun to do and there are many people I would like to thank. Firstly I would like to say thanks for the patience and support of the Rathangan Variety Group, with a special thanks going to the coordinator, Rose Walsh for allowing us to abruptly interrupt their rehearsals (You can find high quality pics of the show "Oliver Twist" on their nights HERE ). A warm thanks goes to my stateside mate Jim Yeomans for his contribution towards the audio mixing and mastering. Finally, I would like to say thanks to Dermot Roche and Paul Leonard for their contribution in helping create the video. cmcg On the 13th of April this month there will be a fundraiser in aid of Motor Neuron Disease in the Sky and the Ground Public house, Wexford. Legendary Irish broadcasterColm Murray who has been diagnosed with the illness show his support for the night on his facebook page. Please come along on the night to support the cause, I will be performing some music along with other musicians, Eoghan Quigley and band, Sussudio. More details HERE. cmcg After listening to Ed Sheerans' "You need me man, I dont need you" track I knew he had something special and ever since then he has been a breath of fresh air to the industry. This is my acoustic version of his popular hit "Lego House", Check it out. The jersey I am wearing in the video is belong to the local GAA club, St. Annes Rathanagan. C'mon the Annes!!! www.rathangan.net The SOS logo belongs to School & Office Supplies, an Irish owned business who sell products ranging from school books, to office furniture to art supplies. They have recently taken their business online where it has been very successful. www.schoolandofficesuplies.ie Please visit the download page to get yourself a high quality mp3 of this track. cmcg Another collaboration with James Yeomans (Hammertoe), this one takes the form of a slow soulful 70's styled track in 6/8 time with some Tom Jones-esque styled vocals. I always enjoy collaborating with Jim, since he brings so much to the table, between style, solid ears for arrangement/instrumentation and as per usual a professional finished product. Please take a listen to the track below, I have to say this one was a real vocal stretcher and certainly more adventurous on my part!! Right, I'm off skiing for a few days, be back next week! While I continue to work behind the scenes on some of my own music, I felt another youtube cover was needed. The choice was a contempary one, namely the 2011 smash dance hit "We found Love" by Rihanna and Calvin Harris. Its an acoustic take with some harmonies, I've even changed up the chords a little too. Apologies for cropping me head out of it a little but hey thats hardly the main attraction. Damn its cold!!! Just returned from my 4 week stint in the big apple and have to say I thouroughly enjoyed myself, a big shout out to all the relations who treated me like a king for that time!!! Below is a few photos of the trip, not many since I couldnt be arsed taking pictures. A few things that caught my attention while in NY coming from Ireland;
Anyway,Back to the music, there will be plenty more to come before Xmas. cmcg Ok, finished college last year, worked for a year, I need a break .......and no better place to travel than to the big apple. Haven't thought about it that much but I'm now damn excited to see something different in the world aswell as visit some of the many relations I have over there too. As a result, there will be little music created from my end over the next 4 weeks. Do not fret, In the meantime I have been working on two of my own songs nearing completion and have recenlty been in a recording studio doing a song for Xmas with a fellow female musician from Wexford, namely Mandy Sludds. So there will be something big to expect in the next few weeks..... Here is something I tackled a few weeks back, a colloboration with Mark Norwalk from the States, together we recreated the ELO classic "Livin Thing". Enjoy, |
